Independent Oversight, on the Owner’s Side

Our Role

AFTER  DELIVERY

An aircraft in operation depends on people whose interests are not identical to yours. The captain’s job is to fly. The operator’s job is to run a business. Neither can be expected to audit the other, or themselves. We take on that role.

We are paid by the owner, and we have no commercial tie to the operator we review.

From aircraft selection to full ownership, Pickajet delivers independent aviation consulting for individuals and corporations seeking expert guidance in aircraft acquisition, management, and resale.

What We Review

Operator Performance

Whether the operator is delivering what was agreed, safely and on time.

Maintenance and Airworthiness

That the aircraft is maintained to schedule and standard, and that decisions on work are made in the owner’s interest, not the operator’s.

Statements and Costs

Every statement checked line by line against what was agreed.

Charter Performance

Where an aircraft is placed on charter, whether it is offered at rates that reflect the market and whether it is earning what it should.

How We Review

Rhythm. A monthly review of statements and operations, a quarterly performance review, and a six-monthly review of the aircraft and the operator relationship, plus a review whenever events require one.

In practice. In one case, we found an operator charging a client for Crew Training that should not have been billed. We took the statements apart, established what was and was not due, and challenged the charges with the operator. An owner reading those statements alone would not have caught it.

In Practice

AN OWNER'S OPERATOR WAS BILLING FOR CREW TRAINING

What we found: Our reports took the statements apart line by line. Our in-house legal team compared the owner’s contract against its own terms and the requirements that applied. The charges were not due.

What happened: With that evidence behind them, the client pursued the matter with the operator and recovered most of the fees they had paid.

Client details withheld at the client’s request.
